The effects of sea level rise to dynamic at estuaries and coastal areas of Hong river delta

Abstract

Hong river delta is the place where the complex dynamic conditions and interaction between river and sea. This is also a wetland with the most biological diversity in the North of Vietnam and vulnerable to the effects of climate chang, sea level rise. According to the climate change scenario pblished by MONRE in 2016, by 2100 sea level rise over 100cm and making about 16,8% of Hong rever delta area has risk of flooding, impacts from the sea increases erosion and changes in dynamics. In this paper the author focuses on studying the effects of sea level rise on the dynamics of estuaries and coastal areas of Hong river delta. The results of this research are the basis for assessing the impact of climate change and sea level rise on this area.
