Optimization of steel pipe truss for two-direction worked sluice vertical flat gate

Abstract

Based on the theory of optimal structural, the paper has been improved the dimensional shape of steel pipe truss of vertical lift gate to meet these requirements of two-way water controling at the Mekong Delta River. The topic research on optimization of the steel pipe truss is evaluated effectively by comparison to the common vertical lift gate using pipe truss structure in the same conditions such as, dimension, material, weight and load capacity. In addition, the steel pipe truss structure of gate is also optimized in terms of position and dimension to reduce the self-weight. The research results is anlyzed on 3D models by ANSYS software and applicated of the Cai Lon’s vertical lift gate - Kien Giang province.
