Research on determining electrical energy consumed norm of drainage pumping stations and proposing management solutions to reduce them

Abstract

    The Northern Delta region in particular and the Viet Nam country in general, the water drainage for residential and agricultural areas mostly are by pumping stations. The topography of some the Northern Delta provinces such as Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh and Ha Nam is very low in comparison with the flood water level of the Red and Thai Binh river. Thus, the entire natural area of those provinces have to be drained by pumping stations. Every year, the pump stations consume a large amount of electrical energy. In this paper, the first section, the paper introduces a method to determine the electrical energy consumption of the drainage pump stations to build financial mechanisms and sanctions for the management, exploitation, protection and better maintenance of the pumping stations. The second part, the paper proposed some solutions to reduce the electrical energy consumption of the pump stations and increase the operation efficiency of the pumping stations and rising expectation of life of the pumping stations.
