Interaction between coastal wave-induced current and sediment transport at Cua Lap estuary, Ba Ria Vung Tau
Abstract
In coastal areas, wave-induced current often has very important role in the process of sediment transport. The previous studies have shown that when waves reach into coastal areas, due to the shallow water and the heterogeneity of bottom topography, wave are breaking and unevenly distributed. Due to this uneven distribution has created different yield stress by wave and cause sediment transport. Therefore, determining the wave-induced current system during the monsoon periods is critical for estimating the coastal morphology changes in the study area.
