Impacts of climate change on runoff across Ca river basin

Abstract

Ca river basin is one of the main basins in the North of Center Vietnam. The basin is very steep leading to difficults in water resources in dry season. Simulations of future climate using general circulation models (GCMs) suggest that rising concentrations of greenhouse gases may have significant consequences for the global climate. In this paper, a downscaling technique is used to simulate rainfall change in the future at 12 stations within Ca river Basin based on Global circulation model HadCM3. A hydrological model is then used to simulate streamflows in each subbasin under the downscaled current- and future-climate conditions.
