Utilizing drip irrigation techology for grapefruit in suburbun Hanoi city

Abstract

     The most advantage for application of drip irrigation technology is water saving, due to water is supplied directly to trees without losses from evaporation and percolation. Drip irrigation can also ensure equity distribution of soil moistures in the layer of tree root to increase crop yield. This paper introduces the results in applying drip irrigation for a household farm with area of 0.2 ha growing grapefruit trees in Soc Son district, a sub-burn district of Ha Noi city. Results from the pilot model are scientific base and actual evdence for expending widely modern irrigation technology for high value fruit trees to develop household based economic.
