Application of fuzzy logic theory to develop fuzzy logic water quality index for Nhue- Day river basin

Abstract

The fuzzy logic theory water quality assessment method is more and more known and widely used in recent times because it is more flexible than WQI, the parameters involved in the calculation can change and have the ability to applicable in many different cases. This paper presents the results of research on building water quality index in Nhue - Day river basin based on the results of applying fuzzy logic theory, symbolized by FWQI (Fuzzy Water Quality Index) with 6 water quality parameters, includes DO, BOD5, NH4 +, NO3 -, PO4
3-, total Coliform. Comparing the FWQI with the calculated WQI at 20 water sampling locations on the Nhue and Day rivers, in the two sampling times in 2019, shows quite consistent results.
