Abstract

This study investigates the reciprocal relationship between local culture and the environment in the Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon area of Hue City by analyzing the values and traditional practices of the resident community; including indigenous worldviews, resource extraction techniques, settlement customs, family and social structures, local knowledge, and religious practices. The harmony between culture and the living environment has contributed to the sustainable development of the local community. The research findings propose some points for applying traditional knowledge to enhance sustainability in the interaction between humans and the environment, with the aim of promoting regional sustainable development.
