Abstract

Quang Ninh Province has a population of approximately 1.38 million people and attracts about 15.5 million visitors (in 2023). Water supplied for daily life and tourism in the province includes surface water and groundwater. The province's water demand for domestic and tourism use in 2023 is 259.97 million m3/year, forecasted to be 271.38 million m3/year in 2025, and 373.74 million m3/year in 2030. Quang Ninh has about 186 lakes with a capacity of 359.1 million m3, 67 rivers and streams with a total surface water volume of about 8,335.7 million m3/year. There is 3 porous aquifer and 10 fractured aquifers in Quang Ninh province with a total forecast exploitation reserve of 652.3 million m3/year, exploitable reserves are 844,721.75 m3/day.
