Abstract
The coastal protection corridor is one of the measures adopted by many countries worldwide to mitigate the impacts of climate change, coastal erosion, and to protect coastal ecosystems. In Vietnam, the establishment of coastal protection corridors has been implemented in accordance with legal frameworks and planning policies; however, there remain numerous shortcomings at the local level, particularly in Nam Dinh province. Therefore, the study was conducted to monitor and evaluate the implementation of coastal protection corridors in Nam Dinh, especially in areas where such corridors have not yet been established. Through data analysis to identify high-risk erosion zones, combined with field surveys and community interviews, the research findings clarify the current situation and existing limitations in coastal zone management. On so doing, the paper proposes timely management measures for areas that require but currently lack designated protection corridors. It also develops scientific scenarios and solutions to improve overall coastal planning, thereby contributing to the effective prevention of natural disasters.
