Abstract
Environment and food safety criteria are one of 19 criteria for new rural construction. However, implementing this criterion in many rural communes still faces difficulties. This article evaluates the implementation of this criterion in new rural construction in Cat Ne commune, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province. The research used methods such as: collecting documents, conducting field survey, comparing and evaluating the level of completion of criterion 17 in the set of 19 criteria for implementing new rural areas. The results show that Cat Ne commune has made great efforts in completing the New Rural Construction Program with all 19 criteria for new rural construction meeting the requirement, especially the criteria 17 on environment and food security exceeding the targeted level. Nevertheless, some problems still remain such as: epidemics occur in livestock farming, people's awareness of environmental protection is not high... This article proposed somesolutions on effectiveness improvement for the implementation of environmental and food security criteria in Cat Ne commune; in which it is necessary to continue the role of the entire political system in directing and administering new rural construction, promote the propaganda and raise people's awareness, advance good management of environmental protection, and elevate the supervision of new rural construction implementation while orient production development and improvement of people's income.
