The evaluation of greenhouse gas emissions reductions when using R32 refrigerant instead of R410a in residencial air conditioning by TEWI method
Abstract
Based on the results of research on the Vietnam Air- conditioning (ACs) market during period of times 2012-2020, the article analyzed the development trend of the ACs market. Applying the calculation approach of the Total Equivalent Warming Impact - TEWI and the Bin-temperature method, the paper firstly built a model to determine the amount of GHG emissions corresponding to the scenarios of the replacing rate ACs using R-410A by ACs using R-32, respectively 8% and 10%. The result showed to decreate emissions GHG of 9.6 and 14.3 million tons of CO2 respectively. The obtained result may support Governmental agencies and businesses to evaluate the effectiveness of the R-32 refrigerant use to contribute to the successful implementation of the Kigali Amendment of the Montreal Protocol.
