Determining Strategy and Roadmap for Financial Market Integration of Vietnam for the period 2019- 2025

Abstract

Financial market integration is highly considered a foreseeable future for any country living in the world of globalization,
in which involving countries gradually and proactively take steps into opening up the their markets and liberalizing
financial areas, aiming to reaching the final goal of deeply integrating into the global and regional financial markets.
To implementing those steps and realizing that goal, countries will obviously establish their appropriate pathways
tailored to their specific economic and political conditions. Therefore, the financial market integration process has
been always sticked to a particular space and time span, and there is nothing so-called full financial integration
at any single country. Vietnam, on the way to financial market integration state, has been participating a series of
FTA, agreements and commitments of ASEAN, ASEM, APEC, … . In this regard, this paper will comprehensively
introduce the financial integration roadmap of Vietnam under committed agreements, and eventually propose the
viable strategy and roadmap for Vietnam’s financial integration for the period 2019- 2015.
