Abstract
FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) is no longer a distant concept and over the years, it has proved its role in the
development of emerging economies. Yet, while FDI has had increasing adverse effects on the host country,
especially in terms of environmental ecology, low-carbon FDI emerges to be a new direction for nations seeking
a new type of financing source that balances profit factors and environmental safety and aids their achievement
of sustainable economic development goals. Within this study, the author focuses on two issues: (1) What are
determining factors that attract low-carbon FDI in Vietnam; and (2) What should Vietnam do to attract and employ
low-carbon FDI efficiently
