Impacts of financial features to economic efficiency of listed commercial banks in Vietnam
Abstract
In the trend of integration with the region and the world to contributes for creating conditions for the development
of Vietnam, especially for commercial banks (CBs), the central coordinator for economic capital. However, the
competitive challenges also posed many problems to be solved to the economic efficiency of CBs. With the
quantitative method, the author examines the factors of financial characteristics affecting the economic efficiency
of Vietnam listed commercial banks in the period 2010-2016. The results show that the three factors have the
opposite effect such as the ratio of total operating expenses to total revenue, loans to total asset, equity to total
asset, while investment in machinery and software applications on total assets impact the same way to economic
efficiency. On this basis, the authors proposed for managers a number of policies to contribute to enhanced
operational efficiency for listed CBs.
