Research on application of Active Teaching Method into the lectures of “Fundamental Accounting” subject to improve quality of CDIO approach teaching in Hanoi University of Industry

Abstract

Up to now, teaching activity focuses on the tradition, inactive method (where teacher presents, student accepts)
that leads to limit absorption of knowledge, skills and attitude. Recent researches show Active Teaching Method
gives students much improved receipt and application of learnt lessons and the Method is widely used in higher
education around the world. This article presents the application of Active Teaching Method into the lectures of
“Fundamental Accounting” subject to adapt output requirements of Hanoi University of Industry. Research bases
on the investigation of 11 lecturers and 48 students in different classes of K10 program. The result shows that
when lecturers only present students are not interested in the lectures and there is a demand to change the
teaching method as well as student’s progress evaluation. The disadvantage of this research is the small sample
investigated and it is necessary to carry out a research on evaluation the advantage of Active Teaching Method
over the tradition teaching method.
