Assets and Liabilities management in Viet Nam commercial banks, issues of concern today

Abstract

Inside into process for restructuring credit institutions, Asset and Liability Management (ALM) is an essential part
taking the attention of many banks in implementation, which contribute to complete management system of these banks.
By applying ALM, banks will minimize loss from interest risks, liquidity risk and ensure safety and efficiency in business
operation. However, with Vietnamese commercial bank, ALM is currently a new and complicated issue that needs to have
more researches from theoretical framework to application on reality. This article will bring out a general assessment
about current situation of ALM in Vietnamese commercial banks and suggest some important issues for special attentions
on implementation
