Demand for agricultural insurance of prawn farming household in Mekong Delta

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine factors that affect the demand for agricultural insurance of prawn farming
household in Mekong Delta. Research data was collected by interviewing directly 216 prawn farming households
in Bac Lieu and Soc Trang province. Binary Logit regression was in this study, research result showed that factors
affecting the demand for agricultural insurance are education, scale of farming area, yield, agricultural risks, and
level of understanding insurance. In particular, the agricultural risks have strongest impact on demand for agricultural
insurance of prawn farming household in Mekong Delta
