Green finance for sustainable growth and development in Vietnam

Abstract
Green growth strategy in Vietnam is a way to accelerate the process of restructuring the economy towards efficient use of
natural resources, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and adaptation to climate change. This strategy will contribute
to poverty reduction and will be the motivation for fast, efficient and sustainable economic development. Green finance
is an important financial support in green growth strategy. This paper describes opportunities and challenges of green
finance development in Vietnam. At the same time, the paper also provides some suggestions to develop green finance
efficiently in Vietnam in current period.
