Proposing credit assistance model for some commercial banks in Vietnam

Abstract

In order to improve the quality of service, the commercial banks (CBs) must innovate and specialize in processes of
banking, including credit process. In the previous credit process, customer relationship officers had to deal with loans
from start to finish, from collecting records, valuating customers’ assets, credit underwriting, applying for loan approval,
registration of security transactions to disbursement. This leads to low work efficiency and potential risks as well.
Currently, commercial banks are conducting the specialization of the credit process, which results in the credit assistance
model. This paper aims at exploring the status of applying credit assistance model in a number of commercial banks,
pointing out its limitations and proposing a more effective model of credit assistance at commercial banks in Vietnam.
