BPM and SOA: An approach for enterprise information systems development

Abstract

The challenge for enterprises is to implement an effective information systems (IS) for operations and executive
management. In fact, the deployment of IS, according to traditional methods result in the lack of connection between
the ISs with operations and between each other. Besides, the upgrading of the IS to meet the requirements change often
is time-consuming work, cost and effort. Business process management (BPM) and service oriented architecture (SOA)
are treated as advanced solutions for the deployment of enterprise ISs. The problem for enterprises is how to deploy ISs
based on BPM and SOA. The article analyzes the problems of IS integration and proposed processes to efficiently deploy
ISs based o BPM and SOA platform.
