Promoting the Equitization Process of State - Owned Enterprises in Vietnam

Abstract

It can be said that the equitization promotion towards state-owned enterprises is one of the key policies that Vietnam’s government and related ministries implemented decisively to boost the restructuring process, strengthen labor’s rights, attract investment, reduce the burden on national budget, and enhance SOEs’ performance. However, facts have shown that the speed of equitization progress in Vietnam have remained quite slowly. Hence, this article will, first, define and analyze practices on SOEs’ equitization in Vietnam, and then, suggest feasible solutions to accelerate the process of equitisation in the coming period which, after that, will significantly contribute to fulfill goals of SOEs restructuring
