Factors affecting the ability to access bank credit of agricultural households in Ho Chi Minh City
Abstract
Ho Chi Minh City has an area of nearly 209,600 hectares, including 19 districts and 5 suburban districts, while 7 agro-ecological zones. Agricultural land is 104,000 hectares, accounting for nearly 50% of the total area of the whole city. In 2012, the city has about 6,811,000 million residents, including agricultural population is 252 million people, accounting for 3.7% of the total population.
In recent years, along with the program of economic restructuring in general, the city has not stopped promoting economic restructuring in agriculture, restructuring of crops and livestock, a switch from reducing rice area inefficient to crops and livestock have economic efficiency, appropriate agricultural characteristics of a metropolis. To restructure agricultural economic success, one of the most important issues to be addressed is the problem of capital, including bank credit for agricultural households. This article analyzes the factors affectting the ability to access bank credit of agricultural households, thereby making recommendations to improve accessible ability to bank credit for agricultural households in the Ho Chi Minh City.
