Policy credit of Vietnam Bank for Social Policies with the goal of poverty reduction and social security

Abstract

Economic development in line with poverty reduction is the consistent policy of the Party in the innovation process and the building of the socialist-oriented market economy. To concretize the policy, on 04/10/2002, the Government issued Decree No. 78/2002 / ND-CP on credit for the poor and other policy beneficiaries; on the same day, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 131/2002 / QD-TTg on establishment of Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) on the basis of reorganizing the Bank for the Poor after separation from the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development. 

After nearly 13 years of operation, VSPB has demonstrated the role of policy credit for the society in general and for the poor and other policy beneficiaries in particular in poverty reduction and social security. The writing analyzes the role of policy credit and Vietnam Bank for Social Policies in poverty reduction and social security in Vietnam.
