Facility layout planning by using simulation modelling and multiobjective decision making

Abstract

The paper presents an approach for solving problems of Facility layout planning for a multi-clinic hospital, which is planning functional units in the hospital with the objectives of improving the effectiveness of the hospital by making doctors and patients convenient and increasing the utilization of diagnosis facilities. Simulation Modeling and Multi-objective Decision Making Techniques have been used to solve the problem. Simulation Technique is used for analyzing the system under consideration and MODM technique is used for evaluating planning alternatives in the Decision Support System.
