Leadership vision and the Aspiration for a Prosperous and Happy Nation: The case of the Mekong Delta

Abstract

Since the initiation of the Đổi mới (Renovation) policy, the Mekong Delta has transformed from a region facing considerable difficulties and challenges into that of socio-economic hub of the country, making great contribution to national food security. These achievements affirm that the aspiration for a prosperous and happy nation has been realised in the practical lives of the people of the Mekong Delta. This also demonstrates that the Party’s choice of advancing towards socialism and initiating Renovation was sound and consistent with the laws of development.
