CHARACTERISTICS OF CYBERLANGUAGE AS A SOCIAL JARGON (BASED ON RUSSIAN AND VIETNAMESE SOCIAL NETWORK DATA)

Abstract

Nowadays, cyberlanguage has become a new research direction in linguistics. Investigating the nature of this type of language helps us see the trending changes in language - the most important means of human communication. In the framework of this research, we point out the reasons why cyberlanguage is considered a type of jargon. The article uses the method of collecting data, analyzing and describing linguistics to clarify the characteristics of cyberlanguage, thereby to show the similarities and differences between Russian and Vietnamese cyberlanguages. The research is based on the theoretical framework of social dialects and jargon in sociolinguistics in order to clarify cyberlanguage as a type of jargon of cyber users - mainly young people who desire to separate themselves from the community and express the identity, personality, and psychology of their own group.
