Abstract
A study was carried out at 3 pig farms in Trang Viet commune (Me Linh, Vinh Phuc) in 2008 to evaluate carcass performance and meat quality of 3 crossbred PiDuÍY, PiDuÍL and PiDuÍF1(LY). Results showed that their dressing and lean meat percentages were high (71.37 and 56.21%; 71.55 and 56.88%; 71.60 and 56.51%, respectively) and high meat quality in terms of drip loss, colour of meat, pH45 and pH24. It was therefore suggested to use crossbred boars of PiDu to mate with Yorkshire, Landrace or F1(LY) sowsto obtain high carcass performance and meat quality
