Abstract

On the threshold of the 21st century, there has been a shift from a “brown” economy to a “green” economy that is environmentally friendly is inevitable for countries to respond to the extreme climate changes. Financial markets have quickly introduced variouscorresponding financial instruments. Carbon credits are considered a primary tool to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and have the potential for rapid growth in trading volume and participating organizations.
