Sustainable development for many years has become an inevitable trend in all countries around the world. In Vietnam, sustainable development is identified as a central task and a goal of all socio-economic development policies, associated with social equality and progress, harmonious and sustainable development, wealthiness, and happiness of the people. This article clarifies the concept and necessity of sustainable development and outlines the problems facing Vietnam when implementing sustainable development goals
