Abstract

Over the years, in the world, the supply of gold has tiny changes and has grown by about 2% per year while the demand for gold has grown by about 10% per year. In addition, economic uncertainties especially the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic and most recently the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine have led many investors to gold as a safe haven investment channel. Therefore, gold price has continuously increased, especially in the period 2007-2013 and 2019-2021. The question is how will the gold price in 2022 behave? This article provides an overview of the gold market over the past 10 years and provides some comments on gold prices in 2022.
