Abstract

The derivatives market plays an important role and is an inevitable tendency in the consistent and complete development of every national stock market. In the world, most countries with developed financial markets prioritize building and developing derivatives markets as an indispensable component of the overall market structure with the role of hedging risks for investment activities in other market segments, including both the base market and the commodity market. This study clarifies the situation of trading derivatives in the Vietnamese market over the past time, thereby proposing solutions to deploying new products, meeting investment demands as well as improving the derivatives market in the coming period.
