Abstract

In this paper, a hybrid model using a combination of linear block and a nonlinear, fuzzy rules will be proposed for the wind speed prediction model. Wind turbines power plants need these models to
coordinate their operation with the dispatching units of the system. The proposed hybrid models will give more accurate results than using the linear or nonlinear block alone. The model proposed in this paper is applied experimentally for one year of measurement data for wind speed at heights of 100m and 80m, with 30-minute forecasting problems, the 2-day forecasting problems achieves the average error of the solution less than 9.1% for the former problems and 13.6% for the later problems.
