Climate change adaptation in relation to disaster risk reduction

Abstract

Climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction have been interested in research, investment and implementation in Viet Nam. However, linking climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction is still limited. Climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction have many similarities and differences. The confusion about the similarities and differences, the differences in approach and unclear in actions are the causes of difficulties for linking climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. This paper analyses the similarities and differences, the challenge of coherence, and measures for climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction be more sustainable efficiency.
