ACTIVITIES OF TROPICAL CYCLONES IN NORTHWESTERN PACIFIC OCEAN AND VIETNAM’S EAST SEA IN 2020

Abstract

Typhoons storms and tropical depressions, commonly referred to as tropical cyclones, are usually active from May to December in the Northwestern Pacific Ocean and from June to November in Vietnam’s East Sea. Aiming to provide information about tropical cyclone season in 2020, this article summarizes the activities of tropical cyclones in the Northwestern Pacific Ocean, Vietnam’s East Sea and landed in Vietnam. In additon, the statistical analysis of the characteristics of tropical cyclones is also introduced to evaluate their frequency and intensity in 2020.
