EFFECTS OF WEATHER AND CLIMATE ON THE PRODUCTION OF THE 2018-2019 WINTER-SPRING CROP

Abstract

Agricultural production is one of the field that is directly affected by weather and climate conditions. Therefore, using meteorological information and agricultural meteorology to make appropriate decisions on agricultural production is essential to ensure food security and stable socio-economic development. Assessing and summarizing agricultural meteorological conditions of the past agriculture production is also very important in order to obtain information and knowledge for efficient agricultural production. This arrticle evaluated the impacts of weather and climate on the production of the 2018-2019 winter-spring crop in Viet Nam. The results showed that high heat and hot days are the main influencing factors of the decline in yield. By comparison, winter-spring crop in the period of 2018-2019 and 2017-2018 about rice productivity, the fomer is less than the latter 1-2%.
