Abstract
The COVID-19 panademic is seen as a cataclysmic event, bringing about a crisis on a global scale. Since its occurrence, normal daily lives have been tremendously affected, resulting in fear, rising levels of stress and fatigue. Hence, the number of mental health issues experiencing a surge in quantity is but a predictable matter. Among COVID-19 patients, not only is their well-being influenced negatively during the course of infection but also in the long term after recovery, namely the “long COVID syndrome”. Prolonged ramifications of COVID-19 on human’s physical and mental statuses have been seen in multiple records and articles but haven’t quite gotten sufficient attention and research. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis of relevant research papers and articles to shed more light on the subject of COVID-19 impact before, during and after infection and provide a comprehensive view on the topic, thus offering suggestions to enhance people’s physical and mental conditions, even after recuperation.
