Health satisfaction and different social factors predicting the differences of health satisfaction
Abstract
Data in this health satisfaction study was collected by Hanoi National University in 2011 for an annual survey named "Life satisfaction". This was a quantitative survey with the sample size of 2400 and the survey was conducted in 4 cities & provinces including Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh city, Binh Duong, and Hai Duong province. The sample was chosen to demonstrate the population characteristics of its city/province, including people from 18 years old, both male and female, at different education levels and from different occupations. The sample was chosen by a mixed method: stratified sampling and random sampling. The satisfaction's level was evaluated by hierarchical scales from 1 to 5, which were equivalent from low to high level of satisfaction. The level was identified by respondents themselves. The findings showed that people from the survey sites seemed to atisfy with their health, which was reflected on the high score of the mean of the satisfaction (3.75). There were not so many differences in the health satisfaction level between different people who had different demographic and social characteristics. The data from survey also showed the social factors, which predicted for the differences in health satisfaction, as follows: income, sex, age and living places.
