Knowledge, attitude and eye care service seeking behaviour of the community on preventable blindness

Abstract

The survey of "Knowledge, attitude and eye care service seeking behavior of the community on preventable blindness" in Nghe An province has been conducted by CBM (Christoffle Blinden Mission) coordination office in Viet Nam and Nghe An Eye Hospital by employing a cross sectional qualitative and quantitative study. Participants who were recruited into the research are policy makers, policy implementers, service providers, and service users such as farmers, teachers, pupils and the disables. Findings from the survey show that there is a big gap in community knowledge and limitation of quality in eye care services while blindness and eye diseases are existing public health problems in Nghe An province.
