Physical activity among students in nutrition science of Hanoi Medical University
Abstract
Abstract: Objective: To describe the physical activity of the students in nutrition science, Hanoi medical university. Method: 96 subjects were interviewed by using the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire-GPAQ. Cut-off greater than 600 MET-minute per week was used to define subjects who meet the WHO recommendations on physical activity. Results: 71.9% of subjects met the WHO recommendations on physical activity, the sedentary time was about 10 hours per day. The prevalence of subjects with high level of physical activity was 17.7%, moderate was 42.7% and low was 39.6%. Conclusion: The prevalence of students meeting the WHO recommendations on physical activity is relatively high, the sedentary time of students occupies major part of the time of day.
