A review of climate change and gender equality
Abstract
Existing literatures show that there are linkages between climate change and gender equality. On the one hand, climate change is likely to exacerbate existing gender inequalities and prohibit the progress towards gender equality. On the other hand, gender inequality can further worsen the effects of climate change. Using data available in the internet, this review aims at analyzing on information about gender equality under the direct impacts of climate change and gender mainstreaming in policy, action on climate change. Based on the results found, recommendations to improve gender equality in the context of climate change are made in order to contribute for more effective policies and actions on climate change.
