Current situation of human resources for health in public health care facilities in Kim Bang and Binh Luc districts, Ha Nam province in 2014
Abstract
A cross-sectional study was carried out by using secondary data to describe the situation of human resources in health care system in Kim Bang and Binh Luc districts, Ha Nam province in 2014. The result showed that Binh Luc District General Hospital (DGH) was short of 8 medical staff, and no pharmacist at university level was available. The District Health Center (DHC) lacked 7 to 11 health care workers. 84.2% of Commune Health Stations (CHS) had enough permanent staff; 31.6% had no doctor while only 1 CHS had 2 doctors. In Kim Bang district, the DGH lacked 45-61 medical workers; DHC had sufficient permanent staff; 100% of CHSs had enough permanent staff; 22.2% had no pediatrician while 2 CHSs had 2 doctors and 3 CHSs had 2 midwife/Ob - Ped assistant doctors, but 3 CHSs did not have these positions, and 38.9% of CHSs had neither primary pharmacists nor assistant pharmacists. Therefore, it is suggested that leaders of Binh Luc and Kim Bang districts should have encouraging polices to attract medical staff as well as plan allocation of human resource more appropriately to meet the demand of health care for people.
