Knowledge, attitudes, practices and related factors in hepatitis B prevention among nursing students in Phu Yen medical college, 2015

Abstract

      This cross-sectional study was conducted to describe knowledge, attitudes, practices and several related factors in hepatitis B prevention among nursing students of Phu Yen Medical College in 2015. The study results showed that 82.7%, 70% and 77.3% of students had knowledge, attitudes, and practice, respectively, in Hepatitis B prevention. There was a statistically significant correlation between age group and knowledge, and between knowledge and practice of students. Recommendation: strengthening education on hepatitis B prevention for Phu Yen nursing students, specifically increasing the amount of time for teaching and practice, with a focus on the under 20 years age group.
