Abstract

    Higher education is undergoing a significant transformation, in which artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a vital tool for both lecturers and students. This study proposes a model that integrates an AI-powered chatbot into the academic advising system to create an intelligent, efficient, and personalized learning environment. The main objectives of the model are: (1) to provide a seamless learning experience by enabling students to instantly access information and receive timely responses to their inquiries; (2) to reduce the workload of academic advisors, thereby improving the quality of academic support; and (3) to enhance the overall quality of higher education, laying the groundwork for future AI-driven innovations. The model is developed based on natural language processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and the Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) approach. It is evaluated through practical experiments using input data from Hanoi Metropolitan University.
