Application of equivalence theory to subject heading translation

Abstract

      Translation of subject headings is an important step in cataloguing at libraries, especially at those, who are using LC Subjecty headings; this article presents some equivalent elements to be paid attention to when translating into Vietnamese and using them. Hence, the author puts forward some measures to enhance effectiveness of subject headings translation.
