The development of library and information services at universities around the world: Lessons for Vietnam

Abstract

        The article introduces some information - library services at university libraries around the world, including: materials circulation; materials delivery; information literacy training; teaching and research support. Based on international experiences, many university libraries in Vietnam have developed information - library services, such as: "book drops"; office library; information reference - consultancy; information support... The article also reaffirms the necessity of organizing library training courses for students at the beginning of the school-year as well as developing new services to best suit users' needs.
