The gender differences in the development of information literacy

Abstract

    Based on the analysis of previous studies, the article provides an overview of the differences in competency in general and in the development of information literacy (IL) between two groups of learners: male and female. The analysis of the literature shows that there are gaps and differences in IL of these two groups of learners. The article points out that identifying the factors that affect IL development of men and women is necessary to develop appropriate IL training programs as well as support learners to develop IL effectively.
