Abstract

     Big Data is a term used to refer to huge, mostly unstructured datasets, collected from a variety of sources. Big Data has many impacts, applications and is considered as a decisive factor in the development, bringing competitive advantages to the organization. The overview paper summarizes the views on Big Data and emphasizes application trends in library and information activities.
