Open license – The fundamental of information resource sharing and open access

Abstract

The paper provides background knowledge of copyright and open licenses, and clarifying the differences between the levels of openness of current licenses, with emphasis on Creative Commons license. Researching the Vietnamese context on two aspects:  attitudes of stakeholders on copyright and open licenses, and incompatibilities between the current legal system with open licenses. Based on that there are some recomendations for applying open licenses for creating and sharing digital information resources, and promoting open access in Vietnam.
