The process of developing digital humanity in Russia and lessons for Vietnam

Abstract

   Digital humanities is a scholarly activity at the intersection of digital technology and the disciplines of humanities. It reflects a two-way relationship between them. Digital humanities has immensely changed the way scholars or researchers do their research. As digital humanities is now considered one of the most dynamic fields of knowledge, this paper reviews relevant literature on digital humanities to yield a better understanding of how it impacts research in the different disciplines of humanities. Furthermore, to elucidate on the goal of this paper, an overview of the digital humanities is given. Then, a review of the past and present of digital humanities in Russia is also presented, thereby gaining experiences to develop digital humanities initiatives in Vietnam.
